World Baijiu Day 2020 世界白酒节

Lots of people asking if World Baijiu Day is happening in 2020. Of course!

I am contacting past partners one by one and we are already tentatively planning fun in cities like Stockholm, Melbourne, Singapore, Los Angeles, Christchurch, Tianjin, Chengdu and Beijing, among others. (If you’d like to join our “global ganbei”, let me know at spirit (at) worldbaijiuday.com.)

Due to the uncertainty of coronavirus–and restrictions that vary from city to city–event details will solidify as we get closer to the big day. Take Beijing: we had nearly two months with no reported cases, and people were feeling pretty relaxed, then we had a new outbreak ten days ago. So, we’ll definitely do something here but need to get closer to August 9 before we know how big we can make it.

In other words, this isn’t your typical year and thus also not your typical World Baijiu Day! My own resources are stretched thin, and as usual we have no financial backing, but I’m confident it will be a memorable WBD for those who get involved.

Look for lots more updates over the next few weeks as momentum gains ahead of World Baijiu Day 2020!

Founded in 2015, World Baijiu Day is held each August 9, with events in over 60 cities so far. Follow WBD on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. And get in touch via spirit (at) worldbaijiuday.com.
