People of Paris! Partake in World Baijiu Day on August 8 at your fair city’s Moutai Showroom. Enjoy a two-hour session that covers the history of Moutai, a chance to smell and touch the raw materials that go into this spirit, including that all-important item sorghum, and a tasting. In turn, that tasting will feature food pairings, including a French favorite, Roquefort cheese, as well as Chinese dishes.
And organizer Sarah Chen says that to celebrate this first World Baijiu Day, everyone gets a gift. Even better, the first eight people who register get something extra special.
“No one is leaving empty-handed!” she says.
(My only request is that someone in Paris fulfills my dream of combining bread and baijiu into a product called the ‘bai-guette’.)
